Hazel Wood welcomes Chinese exchange students

Over the last academic year, students at Hazel Wood have been welcoming international children from various different provinces across China. The children come over to the UK on an exchange programme that is organised by a local education company. The latest of these exchange experience days took place on 30th and 31st January.

Hazel Wood Students raise almost £1,000 for Bury Hospice

Bury Hospice have confirmed that Hazel Wood students raised an amazing £990.15 through their Tesco Charity Music Performance in December 2023. A massive congratulations to all involved!

Animal Care students visit Chester Zoo

As part of our learning experience in Animal Care, Year 10 and 11 students visited Chester Zoo on Wednesday 17th January 2024. The visit and activities during the day extended the learning in the units that have been taught and added real-life context to the curriculum. The pupils will now reflect on their visit as part of their coursework.

Winter break gift for Year 7 students

For our last day of term, we have celebrated the start of the Winter break by providing every child in year 7 with a very special gift. Each student has been given a book to enjoy and many of them have the same one as their friends, so that they can read together and discuss it.

Bury Hospice Christmas Carol Performance
