National Poetry Day
Delivered by renowned author Laura Mucha, our students shined as they shared their thoughts and collaborated to create poetry. One of our responsible and aspirational year 11 students supported the venture and our deputy head Mr Groves facilitated the session. A big thank you to Mrs Adams and Mr Groves for enabling our students to have this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Feedback from our students has been glowing. One year 7 student said:
‘The world record attempt was really fun to do. We took part in polls and helped make decisions about what the poem would look like. We shared our ideas, and they were sent to the poet live. This was really exciting. After the lesson we spoke to other schools, so many schools took part and it was like we were all working together.’
We now look forward to finding out if we have made a new world record! Well done year 7!
