Macmillan Fundraising Tea Party
On Friday 25th of September, Year 7 at Hazel Wood High School, participated in a Macmillan fundraising event. Normally, we would have invited our families and community members into school to support our Macmillan Coffee Morning. Due to COVID restrictions we were unable to invite families into School.
Year 7 were not going to beaten and the pupils planned activities to raise money for the popular fundraiser. Activities ranged from a sponsored silence to a penalty shoot-out and the idea was that each of the five forms would celebrate the event in style. All the ideas were brought together by the lovely year 7 students and they managed to raise £359.95 with form 7E taking the lead on the fundraising front. Head of Year 7, Mrs Davison, told us, “It was a great fun-packed afternoon where the pupils had the chance to raise as much money as possible. I am really pleased with the efforts of year 7.”
The year 7’s represented Hazel Wood High School in an outstanding manner and finished off their afternoon with a tea party in their classrooms. A year 7 pupil, Eva Corfield, shared her thoughts on how the Macmillan charity event went by explaining, “It was great and I felt really proud that we were supporting a charity that affects many families. Macmillan helped my family and I wanted to do the same.” Hazel Wood wanted to say thank you to all the supporters who helped raise money for such a fabulous cause. Photos of the event are available on the school website.
