It is an absolute pleasure to welcome you to Hazel Wood High School in September and we are extremely delighted that you will be joining our school community as your child enters the next stage of their school life. We will do our very best to ensure that they have an amazing time that is filled with wonderful memories and success.
Starting secondary school is a really exciting time but we know that it can also feel a little bit daunting too. We also understand that they may be feeling a little anxious but please do not worry – we are here to fully support their transition and we will add all the information you need to this section of the website to ensure that their journey is a happy and safe one.
We know that you will have lots of questions and we will be working closely with your child’s primary school to address any issues or concerns that you might have. We have a number of links and resources that will be added which will help prepare them so please keep visiting the website for any updates.

If you have any concerns or worries about starting at Hazel Wood High in September, do not fear as we have our Transition Ambassadors on hand to help with any questions you may have!
At Hazel Wood High, we have a team of current Year 7 pupils, who will work closely with the Year 7 team to ensure that you have smooth, happy and safe transition from Primary to Secondary. They are here to highlight any issues or problems that might arise and will help to develop solutions to help you. They meet once every half term to discuss how they can improve your Year 7 experience and support the new pupils to our school.
Will there be any extra curricular activities for my child?
We are passionate about offering our pupils extra curricular activities at Hazel Wood High School.
Parents may review our offer and book places via the ParentPay app. All clubs, including materials, are provided without charge.
