Animal Care students visit Chester Zoo

As part of our learning experience in Animal Care, Year 10 and 11 students visited Chester Zoo on Wednesday 17th January 2024. The visit and activities during the day extended the learning in the units that have been taught and added real-life context to the curriculum. The pupils will now reflect on their visit as part of their coursework.
Our Year 10 students also carried out a workshop on animal housing (which our Year 11 students completed last academic year) and accommodation to prepare them for their assessment and also allowed them to explore the decisions made by the zoo when preparing animal housing.
All students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and took away valuable knowledge that will help them with their studies.
