Anti Bullying Week - Odd Socks Day

Posted on Monday 29th November 2021

The activities continued throughout the week. Firstly, each year group had an assembly which was led by our pupil leadership team. They focused on recognising the different types of bullying and what to do if you feel like you or someone you know is being bullied. They also set pupil's the challenge of using 'One Kind Word' with staff and their fellow pupils.

Secondly,  the student council met and one of their discussion points was how to improve anti-bullying within school. The pupil leadership team will be taking these ideas to the Head teacher next week to allow implementation in the new term.

Thirdly, pupils were invited to apply to become an anti-bullying ambassador. We had over 50 applicants for the role! All pupils who applied will be given the chance to participate in the training and if they do well will become an anti-bullying ambassador for our school.

Finally, the pupil leadership team have been selling wristbands and rulers in support of anti-bullying week. They have raised over £70 so far with money still coming in. This money will go towards changes the pupils want to see in school.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our pupils for embracing the theme of the week and in particular to the pupil leadership team for setting an impeccable example to their fellow pupils.

Well done!
