Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Training is well underway
In order to achieve the Bronze Award, students are required to navigate their way around the countryside on a two-day expedition and over-night camp. Two recent training walks have gone extremely well, with the students in small teams, willing to go above and beyond to learn the necessary skills to succeed in this unit. The group have been fantastic.
With a huge support from staff volunteers, the group has been to Peel Tower and Bibby's Farm near Chorley recently completing a total of 12 miles on foot, gaining confidence, using maps and compasses to get to key checkpoints. Very soon they will embrace the full challenge and plan & execute their own route independently. Good luck to all.
Are you up to the challenge? More opportunities in 2023/24. (Years 9 & 10). If interested see Mr Greenwood.
