Fantastic news from our P.E. department as both our Junior and Senior Squads have smashed their way into contention in the brand new Bury Schools' Windball Cricket league. This new 12-overs-a-side format takes place on Thursday nights on the Astro-turf and the fixtures so far have offered lots of tension & excitement all round. 

The year 9 & 10 seniors beat Philips last week, and the year 7 & 8 Juniors made it an impressive double with their dominance over the Heys. For a while it was tight, but the Seniors beat Philips chasing down a credible score of 72 off 12 overs, in the eleventh over. Both teams edging the contest at any given point, but Hazel Wood held their nerve. Whereas, with the Juniors it was marginally easier, with the win by three wickets. 

Both the victorious teams deserve a lot of credit for their commitment to training recently and clearly the practice has paid off. There were stand out moments from senior Captain Sabat with the ball and bat; and the MOTM player in the Juniors was Mohammed Gohar retiring on an unbeaten 22 and bowling 3 wickets for only 18 runs.
