Hazel Wood Welcomes GMP for Inspiring Educational Visit
Hazel Wood High School was delighted to welcome Chief Inspector Wright and PC Nadeem, who were warmly received by Headteacher Mrs Hulton. As part of the visit, PC Nadeem delivered an insightful session to students on the Police Code of Ethics, helping to deepen their understanding of the principles that guide police conduct.
During the session, students explored how the police use consent in their work and why ethical standards are vital in maintaining public trust. PC Nadeem also discussed the responsible use of police powers, the process of investigating crimes, and how incidents are recorded.
The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn more about the law, the role of the police, and the real-world consequences of criminal behaviour.
In a creative extension of the day’s learning, Year 9 students collaborated with Ms Miller, Art Teacher at Hazel Wood High, to produce two powerful canvases reflecting the themes discussed. These artworks will be proudly displayed at the Bury Police Station Tutor Unit, where they will serve to inspire and inform new student officers as they begin their training.
