Outdoor Learning and Adventure at Heaton Park for Hazel Wood Students
Year 7 Students from Hazel Wood High School recently enjoyed a fun-filled and educational day out at Heaton Park, combining outdoor exploration, physical activity, and team bonding.
The visit began with students exploring the beautiful surroundings of the park, learning about its natural features and local significance. The highlight of the day was an exhilarating session at Zip World's Tree Top Nets, where students bounced, climbed, and navigated their way through a network of giant suspended nets high in the trees—an experience that encouraged confidence, resilience, and plenty of laughter.
The day concluded with a relaxed class picnic, giving students the chance to unwind, reflect on their experiences, and enjoy time together in the sunshine.
The trip, which was fully funded as part of the school’s Oak Experiences programme, was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with nature, develop new skills, and strengthen friendships—all while representing Hazel Wood High with enthusiasm and excellent behaviour.
