Posted on Tuesday 8th July 2025

Year 9 students from Hazel Wood High School recently took part in an exciting educational visit to York, aimed at enriching their understanding of history, culture, and local heritage.

The trip, which was fully funded as part of the school’s Oak Experiences programme, included a guided tour of the stunning York Minster, where students explored the city’s religious and architectural past. They also visited the York Dungeon, where immersive exhibits brought to life some of the darker chapters of York’s history in a memorable and engaging way.

Students had the opportunity to walk along the historic city walls, gaining a deeper appreciation of York’s unique character and its significance through the ages.

Throughout the day, students were impeccably behaved, representing Hazel Wood High with pride and maturity. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which brought their classroom learning to life in a meaningful and memorable way.
