Halle Orchestra experience at the Bridgewater Hall

Prior to half term some of our year 9, 10 and 11 music students had the opportunity to see the famous Halle Orchestra at The Bridgewater Hall.

GM Higher 'A Day in the Sky'

On Tuesday 15th October, ten of our Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit Manchester Airport to learn about the training and career opportunities they offer. Students were treated to a tour of the airport and a talk from a member of staff, before getting to try a variety of jobs and be 'hands-on'.

National Poetry Day

On Thursday 3rd of October, we celebrated National Poetry Day. This year, year 7 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a Guiness World Record. Twenty-nine of our year 7 students joined schools from around the country on a Zoom call endeavouring to create a new world record: most students on record co writing a poem. Delivered by renowned author Laura Mucha, our students shined as they shared their thoughts and collaborated to create poetry.

Open Evening 2024

We would like to offer a warm invitation to our annual open evening on Wednesday 25th September, 5.00pm - 7.00pm.

Throughout the evening, those attending will have the opportunity to explore our school grounds and speak with our teachers and students regarding learning and life at Hazel Wood High School.

Oak Experiences - Living Your Best Life

Over the past year, Year 7 have been challenged with completing 50 tasks as part of our Oak Experiences package. Students are rewarded for their participation through our termly rewards assemblies and are given a certificate upon completing 30, 40 and all 50 tasks. We have currently five students who have achieved the Sapling Award for completing over 40 tasks.
